Under
Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998, Ulidia Housing
Association Ltd has been designated as a public authority
and has produced an Equality Scheme.
The
purpose of the Scheme is to demonstrate the Association’s
commitment to promoting equality of opportunity and good
relations among a range of groups. This will be achieved
by screening the Association’s policies to ensure
that they do not have an adverse impact on individuals
and groups in the following categories: religious belief,
political opinion, racial group, age, persons with a disability,
men and women generally, marital status, persons with dependants,
sexual orientation.
The
Association’s Equality Scheme
was approved by the Equality Commission in
September
2005.
During
2005/06 we consulted a wide and diverse range of organisations
and groups in relation to various stages within the Action
Plan of the Scheme. We also continued to scan policies,
undertake two Equality Impact Assessments and provide staff
training.
The
Association is committed to the Equality Scheme and will continue
to implement the obligations highlighted within the document
and its Five Year Action Plan. If you wish to be added
to the Association's consultation list please do not hesitate
to contact us.
