Women's Aid provide direct support services to women experiencing domestic violence and abuse. This work underpins and informs all other goals and actions of the organisation.
In 1984 we began our first Joint Mangement project with Belfast Women's Aid and since then we have completed 9 refuge projects. These projects provide accommodation and support for many women and children escaping domestic violence in Northern Ireland.
The Association currently has 178 bedspaces in 6 shared housing projects, jointly managed with Women's Aid under the terms of Joint Management Agreements.
The Association also has 10 self-contained units, managed in conjunction with Women's Aid, which are used as move-on accommodation for women and children leaving refuges.
